Including your guests in creating something special for the baby’s nursery will not only be a fun activity at the baby shower but a special keepsake for the parents-to-be to display.
Small Canvas Art:
While I know not everyone is an artist, there is still something fun about breaking out some paint and paintbrushes and letting loose. Lay out 15 to 20 small blank canvases in a designated area at the baby shower along with paint and paint brushes and ask your guests to create a little masterpiece for the baby. Once everyone has created a painting, the parents-to-be can then take these home and hang them in the baby’s nursery. I love the way each small canvas transforms the wall into a larger piece of art, such as the photo shown below from The Creativity Exchange:
I love the art/canvas painting area at this baby shower from Little Frills:
If guests are having a hard time figuring out what to paint on their canvas, you can have them tape some lines on the canvas and then paint multiple colors in between the taped-off areas:
Create-Your-Own Building Blocks:
Building Blocks are almost always found in a baby/child’s room, so why not customize some that will not only be fun to play with but will be fun for the little one to look at. I found this cute idea at We Heart Parties – purchase some plain wooden blocks and lay them out on a table at the baby shower along with Sharpie Markers (there are so many fun colors to choose from now!) and let your guests doodle away.
